Would You Rather Book Tag

As a reader, I really like a lot of genre but asking me to read horror? Not going to happen. That isn’t to say I haven’t read the odd spooky book, I have. It’s just not my thing. That aside, here’s my take on the Would You Rather Halloween Tag

Thrillers or the Supernatural?
Easy answer, thrillers. I don't read supernaturals, they tend to make me snort, laugh maniacally, or roll my eyes in despair.

Ghosts or Zombies?
Oh, come on, no brainer, it has to be ghosts. Ghosts are way cooler than brain-dead zombies. Talking to the dead, discussing Jane Harper's latest release, asking what it's like on the other side, does it snow, you know, that sort of thing …

Vampires or Werewolves?
Duh! Werewolves, they are after all, eh, my distant cousins twice removed on my mother's side, through my Irish lineage—or am I think about my cousin's Irish setter? Hmm …

Witches or Demons?
Probably demons, now I come to think about it. Given I love Dara a demon Djinn from S.A. Chakraborty's THE CITY OF BRASS, and who wouldn't want to live there immersed in all that magic and intrigue. Kind of like Christmas dinner at my parent's house.

Would you rather read a book with 13 chapters or a book with a black cat on the cover?
Being as I'm not a big cat lover (give me a puppy dog any day) I'll plump for the 13 chapters, especially as I'm not superstitious. 13 is my lucky number.

Would you rather read a spooky book in the dark with only a candle for light or by yourself in a locked brightly lit room?
Definitely the brightly lit room, as I'm as blind as a bat so reading by candle light? Over-rated if you ask me. I'm liable to set the room on fire …

Would you rather face your worst fears or be trapped in the mind of a killer?
I'm hedging my bets, as you don't know what my worst fear is, and I'm not about to talk about it outside of therapy. I stand a better chance stuck in the mind of a killer. Who just might ask for me to be evicted after a day or two. After all, I'm a writer, I have a lot of weird people trapped in my head!

Would you rather watch a scary movie or read a scary book?
Books don't scare me, but watching a movie? Yep, saw one when I was 20 that scared the shit out of me. Not about to repeat that ever again.

Would you rather read spooky books during the fall time, or all year?
If I really had to pick, it would be during the fall.

Would you rather read 10 spooky books in October or all year?
If I had to read 10 spooky books it would take me all year to read them. And what books would I choose?

How about:

And you, what spooky and scary books have you been reading lately?
